Established in 2020, InfraTAF is Africa’s first ring-fenced, multi-donor technical assistance facility dedicated to enabling bankable infrastructure projects. Structured as a Mauritius-domiciled purpose trust and funded by KfW, FSD Africa, GEAPP, and Shell Foundation, InfraTAF provides grant-funded technical assistance for due diligence, feasibility studies, ESG assessments, legal structuring, and transaction preparation. All donor funds are held in segregated accounts and governed by international fiduciary standards, ensuring transparency and full ring-fencing. InfraTAF has supported over 20+ clean energy, telecom, industrial, and housing transactions, enabling thousands of energy connections, rural telecom access, and early-stage project development. The Facility’s impact includes 2,285 jobs, 135,000 telecom users, 526 kWp of solar installations, and catalytic support for the Housing Solution Fund. InfraTAF’s trust-based, multi-donor model is scalable and replicable, offering a proven mechanism for derisking early stage infrastructure.
